My 2 year-old son needs to go on the terrorist watch list. If left unmonitorred he can seriously wreak havoc on pretty much anything in his way. Last Christmas we got the older boy a Wii (which we quickly commandeered for ourselves). Within a month or two the little one managed to shove 2 game discs into it and we had to send it off to Nintendo to be repaired. $100 some odd dollars and weeks later we got it back, good as new. Well, he managed to shove more mystery stuff into it (I know, why didn't we learn our lesson and put it away between uses??) Well, months go by and we have no Wii. Argh. Enter Gamexpress. My husband googles Wii repair and essentially comes up empty, with one exception, Gamexpress. But it's in Sharpstown Mall. I haven't been to Sharpstown Mall since I was in the 6th grade. I haven't exactly heard rave reviews of it either, so I was all like, "I don't know...Sharpstown. Can you find something else?" Well, the answer was no. So, Tuesday at 2:00 I dropped it off at Gamexpress which doesn't even have a store front in the mall. It's just a kiosk. By 10:00 the next morning they called me with my free estimate. There were a bunch of business cards in the dvd drive. It had fried out the drive. I needed a new drive and the bill would be $95 plus tax. Now, I have no idea if this is a good value or not, but I said okay, do the work. They said it would be ready by 6:30 that evening. The next morning, I dropped by, picked it up, paid my money and had my Wii back. It's good as new. I got it back in 48 hours, it has a 90 day warranty. Plus, the family who owns it is super nice. The owner gave my little boy a Mario Bro's watch. Although, I'm not sure he deserves it since it was his fault that the Wii was broken in the first place. Maybe the owner was saying, "Thanks for the good work boy, keep it up. I have kids that need to go to college. Break every electronic device in the house." But he didn't say that out loud or anything. Long story still really long. I will never ever send by Wii back to Nintendo for repair. Gamexpress was so fast, and charged a little less than Nintendo. Oh, and their card says they work on Nintendo DS, and "Apple Pods" which I can only assume means iPods, PSP, Microsoft, xBox, and so much more. OH, and they also sell original games for old Nintendo like Donkey Kong and classic Super Mario Bros. Plus they have these refurbished fake game consoles for sale too. It's pretty cool if you ask me. I know you didn't ask me, but hey, whatever.
