Help with sticky buttons? Kind of a difficult situation.

Matt H.
Device:
PSVita

So I was playing my Vita and watching a movie while drinking Rockstar. Long story short, funny scene, wrong pipe and now my square, cross, select and start buttons tend to stick. Everything else still feels brand new. Anyone have any tip for possibly fixing this? I dont wanna havta open it up because Im afraid of accidentally tearing those ribbons you find in most electronic devices, but if i have to ill just fin someone to do it for me. And before anyone gives me a sarcastic answer just remember that accidents happen and no ones perfect.

Answer:
Ive had this happen to me with controllers and even my 3ds. What has always worked for me is run your hand under some warm water and let a single drop fall off your finger into the button and just mash it like crazy, has always broken it up and gotten it back to normal for me.
Well, after someone got one of my PS3 controllers sticky, I used a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to get it back to normal. I don't see why this wouldn't work on a Vita, but I haven't heard anyone do this for one, so it might not work. I just traced the perimeter of the button in question for a while, and then pressed it down repeatedly when it was still wet. You'll have to repeat it a few times, but it did end up working as well as it did before. Just make sure it's off, and that you give it enough time to dry. Do so at your own risk though.
I take my VITA always in a steamy shower.. maybe the steam could loosen it up.
